            Now there’s a buoy system compact enough to be deployed from a small boat but still rugged enough to handle the harsh conditions of the ocean littoral zone, the Coast Watcher.  Using the industry standard in sub-surface inductive connectivity to communicate with virtually any serial-enabled instrument, the Coast Watcher can be rapidly deployed at points of interest to observe and record long-term trends or unique, short-term events in the coastal ocean and estuarine zones.

            The Coast Watcher uses Wi-Fi wireless technology to telemeter your data, at whatever interval you choose, back to your desk.  Also, take advantage of the two-way terrestrial communications link to adaptively modify the buoy’s sampling strategy, in response to observed short-term phenomena.

            Ideal for physical oceanography on a small budget, water quality monitoring for health & compliance, and oil spill tracking & assessment, the Coast Watcher fills the void between smaller systems designed for lakes & inland waterways and the larger, multi-functional oceanic buoy platforms that require considerably more resources to deploy and maintain.
